Accessibility statement
Effective 23 Oct 2026 · If the Arabic and English texts differ, the Arabic text governs.
We want every student on Mudarraj to learn without barriers, however they use the site: by keyboard, with a screen reader, with enlarged text, or on a small phone screen. This page explains the standard we hold ourselves to, what we have done, what is not finished yet, and how to tell us about a problem.
Our standard
We work to make Mudarraj conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. That is the target for every page we build, and we check new pages against it before release.
What we have done
- Arabic first: the interface was designed right-to-left from the start, and works in English too without breaking the layout.
- Contrast: we measured every text and background colour pair; none is below a 4.5:1 contrast ratio, in both the light and dark themes.
- Keyboard navigation: every interactive element works with a keyboard and shows a clear outline when it has focus.
- Comfortable touch targets: buttons and links are at least 44 pixels in size.
- Video player: works with the keyboard, supports caption files, and lists a lesson's chapters so you can jump between them.
- Motion: if you turn on reduced motion on your device, animations become a simple fade.
- Themes: choose light, dark, or match your device.
- Forms: every field has a linked label, and error messages appear next to the field and are announced to screen readers.
Known limitations
- Video captions depend on what each instructor uploads; not every video has captions.
- PDFs and slides uploaded by instructors may not be accessible to screen readers.
- Third-party players such as YouTube, Zoom, Google Meet and Jitsi follow their own accessibility standards, which we don't control.
- Timed quizzes can't yet give extra time automatically to students who need it. For now, the academy can give you a new attempt or remove the time limit for a quiz.
We are working on these, and we will update this page as we make progress.
How we check
- We run automated accessibility checks (axe) on key pages with every release, and we don't ship a release with serious issues.
- We have not yet had a full manual audit by a specialist; it is in our plans.
- This page was last reviewed on the effective date shown at the top.
Tell us about a problem
If any part of Mudarraj is hard to use, write to hello@mudarraj.dev. If you can, tell us the page, your device and browser, and any assistive technology you use. We reply within 5 working days.
If the problem is in content an academy or instructor uploaded (such as a video without captions or a PDF that can't be read), we pass it on to the academy and follow up. You can also contact the academy directly through its contact page.
